Byllesby

The Byllesby power station is a 1,750-kilowatt hydroelectric generating station located on the Cannon River near the town of Cannon Falls, Minnesota.  North American Hydro operates Byllesby for its owner, Dakota County, Minnesota. The facility is equipped with three horizontal Francis turbine units. The facility produces approximately 9 million kilowatt-hours of clean energy in a typical year.  The Byllesby facility was originally built in 1911.  North American Hydro rehabilitated the facility and returned it to commercial service in 1987.  It operates under an exempt license from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC Project No. 6299).
