Ossipee/Little Ossipee River

Eagle Creek owns and operates the Upper and Lower Kezar Falls run-of-river hydroelectric facilities on the Ossipee River in Maine and the Ledgemere run-of-river hydroelectric facility on the Little Ossipee in Maine.

The Kezar Falls Upper facility is located just upstream of the former Kezar Falls Woolen Mill complex on the Ossipee River.  It contains one S. Morgan Smith vertical Kaplan unit rated at 350 kW.  It was built by the Kezar Falls and Cornish Light and Power Company in 1901, with a new turbine and generator installed in 1928.

The Kezar Falls Lower facility includes a 150-kW L.E. Smith vertical Kaplan minimum flow unit at the dam and a 500-kW S. Morgan Smith vertical Kaplan main unit in the powerhouse at the end of a 900-foot power canal.

Together, the Kezar Falls facilities produce about 6 million kilowatt-hours of clean energy in a typical year.  They are licensed by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC Project No. 9340) through 2030.

Ledgemere
Ledgemere

Ledgemere is a 450 kW facility at the outlet of Arrowhead Lake on the Little Ossipee River. It was built by the Limerick Water and Electric Company and entered service in 1909. Ledgemere produces over 2 million kilowatt-hours of clean energy in a typical year. It is exempted from FERC licensing as FERC Project No. 8788.
