Newfound intake

The Newfound power station is a 1,500-kilowatt hydroelectric generating station located in the town of Bristol, New Hampshire. The facility uses water from the Newfound River just upstream of its confluence with the Pemigewasset River. Water is channeled underground to the powerhouse, which discharges into the Pemigewasset just upstream of the mouth of the Newfound River. The facility’s two Francis turbines produce over 6 million kilowatt-hours of clean energy in a typical year. The Newfound facility began commercial operation in 1984. It operates under a license from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC Project No. 3107) that is valid until 2031.
