Eagle Creek's Turners Falls station is a 937-kW facility that shares a canal with the larger FirstLight Generating Resources' Turners Falls facility (which includes Cabot Station). Although it has rights to the first 289 cfs of water in the Connecticut River, it operates only when river flows exceed 15,000 cfs, instead of selling its water rights to FirstLight when flows are below that level. The facility includes a single vertical Francis turbine housed in a former International Paper mill building. It was originally developed in 1909 but did not operate from 1994 until it was rehabilitated with a new turbine runner in 2000. It now produces over 2 million kilowatt-hours of clean energy in a typical year. The facility is licensed by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC Project No. 2622) through 2021.
