Racine dam

Racine is a 48 MW run-of-river hydroelectric project on the Ohio River in southeast Ohio.  The hydro project is located at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ (USACE) Racine Locks and Dam and is operated in a run-of-river mode.  The hydroelectric facility was completed in 1983.  Racine is equipped with two horizontal bulb-type hydroelectric turbines which produces a long-term average generation of over 200,500 MWh of clean electricity annually, enough to power 18,000 homes.
