Eagle Creek Finalized Eight DOE Grants to Advance Efficiency Upgrades

Bethesda, MD – Eagle Creek Renewable Energy is proud to announce the finalization of $2.8 million of grant funding from the U.S. Department of Energy. DOE awarded Eagle Creek affiliates eight grants under its Hydroelectric Efficiency Improvement Incentives Program. These grants will fund the construction of innovative efficiency upgrades across eight hydroelectric plants located in Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Maine. The awarded plants are listed below. These upgrades will increase the production of clean and reliable energy at these plants by 3-24%.

These upgrade projects underscore Eagle Creek’s role as a leader in driving innovation within the renewable energy sector. The projects are designed not only to enhance operational efficiency but also to deliver measurable environmental benefits, including reducing both powerhouse energy consumption and volume of hydraulic fluids. Eagle Creek remains steadfast in its mission to create lasting value for both the communities where it operates and the environment.

In order to better share the benefits of these projects with our local communities, the grant awardees will host a public engagement meeting where members of the public are encouraged to learn more about the projects and their impact. The meeting will take place on:
